In Special A instead of a student counsil group they have a "top 7 students class/group" or the "Special A" class. -Both animes have the girl and boy top in the school. Of course, this means that the male lead must help the heroines out when they unconsciously put themselves in danger due to their selflessness and desire to help others. And their leading man are super hot. Himegami and Martha Minerva are are the only two to ever exceed it, Rinka, Nadja, Kobushi, Kozuki, and Minami form one in one huge. The side characters in both make for great comedy and plot. Over time, both the male and female protagonists grow and realize what love means to them. Though, maid sama has more comedic romancce, horimiya has heartwarming romance. Usui = Tamaki; Misaki = Haruhi. The similarity of these two shows focuses on two main characters; a handsome, attractive male character, and a stubborn, pretty female character. Both contain a somewhat flat female lead who is very smart and very strong, but so thick it is hard to believe, who is constantly trying to surpass the male lead (Kei and Usui) who is beyond human level at just about everything.
