Report:Fished an inter club match on sunday between Wirral boat angling club and Sefton sea anglers fished 9 till 3 on a small tide 9 boats each club.We headed up to the pier head and dropped anchor along with another dozen or so others.Sport was slow and I managed only a few whiting wich did not count in the match as it was 3 best cod only but my boat partner did have three to around 3lb,he later added a further cod of 4lb 2oz just as I was nodding off.At 2pm the boat had turned enough for me to cast into a new area up river and I had 4 cod in as many casts on the same rod until we pulled the anchor up just after 2:30.I think our best three weighed 10lb 13oz and the overall results were 88lb for WBAC and 64lb for Sefton with a Sefton boat taking the cash prize for the biggest Cod of 8lb sorry did not catch the name.A good day out with good company and a bit of friendly competition to spice things up. so i would recomend fishing with these two boats.
